Register Your Board Vacancies Now
The Governance Hub, Charity Commission and Volunteering England have joined together to call on the sector to register their trustee vacancies and prepare to recruit new board members.
The call to action is in anticipation of a trustee recruitment campaign, Get On Board. The campaign, led by the Governance Hub with the Charity Commission and Volunteering England as partners, will be launched to the public in January 2007.
Newham Trident is currently running a new programme as part of the Borough’s 14-19 Engagement Programme. This involves students from the local schools in Years 10 and 11 taking part in work experience for one day per week for their school year. This is to help give the student a more "hands on" experience of the world of work, and hopefully help to train the employees of the future. We are now looking for businesses to join our database who are willing to volunteer to accommodate these students and give them valuable work experience.
Keep Warm Keep Well campaign launches to help people prepare for the cold
As the winter months approach, we all need to plan ahead and take steps to help protect ourselves from the elements. Around 20,000 people die each year in England and Wales as a result of the cold weather and in especially cold winters, deaths could rise as high as 40,000.
